On Tops-10 and Tops-20, the word "detached" has a specific meaning: If a job is detached, it has no connected terminal from the point of view of the operating system. An accidental disconnection from the terminal server, such as by closing a terminal window on a personal computer, will not result in a detached job.

Since your job is logged in and attached to a terminal, you should use the KILL command in the KILL program, rather than the ZAP command, to log it out.

I recall it was possible to attach to a detached job.

From a new terminal session, use systat to locate the job number then issue the attach command
instead of login.
